各国PMI数据即将公布，英镑/美元延续看跌势头

The gold price was quiet on Sunday despite some upheaval in the Middle East and beyond.  XAUUSD – Weekly Chart  Gold trades between the $2,483 level as support and resistance is ahead at the $2,792 highs.  The precious metal is quiet despite some political upheaval across the world. Syria’s government has fallen with President Bashar Al-Assad fleeing the country to Russia according to reports. Other reports say that the country is now under the control of Al Qaeda.  The political turmoil was not only in the Middle East with France’s government losing a confidence vote and stepping down after only a few months. South Korea also had its problems with the President facing a similar vote of no confidence. The USDJPY exchange rate has data on Monday with the Japanese GDP growth numbers.  USDJPY – Weekly Chart  The price of USDJPY has rallied to 156 but fell back toward the 150 level. Some negative data for the USD could test the 140 level again.  Japanese GDP growth data comes out at 7:50am HKT on Monday. Analysts are expecting to see a 0.2% print from Japan.  The data follows a big week for US data where manufacturing was stronger and the NFP payrolls job data came in strong. Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP) in the US rose by 227,000 during November, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) said on Friday. This reading followed the 36,000 increase reported in October, which was revised up from 12,000 and came in above the market expectation of 200,000.  Other details in the report highlighted that the Unemployment Rate rose to 4.2% in November from 4.1%,

The Hang Seng was steady on Wednesday as South Korea’s government called a no-confidence vote. Turmoil in the country has not spread to other indices.   HK50 – Daily Chart  The price of HK50 is hovering below 20,000 and that will be the target by the end of the week. Previous resistance lies at 21,000 ahead of the January 2023 high of 22,719.  US employment numbers from ADP failed to dent the S&P 500 on Wednesday. After surging 233k higher in October (the largest jump since July 2023), expectations were for a slowdown in November to 150k. The reality was much worse with the previous number downgraded to 184k and November’s coming in lower at 146k.  “While overall growth for the month was healthy, industry performance was mixed,” said Nela Richardson, Chief Economist at ADP.  “Manufacturing was the weakest we’ve seen since spring. EURUSD – Daily Chart  The price of EURUSD was bouncing at the 1.0450 level and has key resistance at the 1.06 mark. The bounce has been weak and could spell further losses ahead.  France’s government was facing a no-confidence vote on Wednesday that could mark the end of the short-lived administration of Prime Minister Michel Barnier, plunging the country into political and financial chaos.  Barnier is likely to be the first premier to be forced out by a no-confidence vote in more than 60 years at a time when his nation is struggling with a massive budget deficit.  The ECB President has said that France’s budget is “unsustainable” and Barnier’s tough measures were a last gasp attempt to tackle it.
